Wednesday the 28th of October our very own PCYC U/15-16 FUTSAL team played against the Afgan Eagles in a very exciting and competitive game at Rosny College in front of a packed house.
From the first touch the game was highly competitive with our opponents netting first and coming out of the blocks firing and letting our side know they were there to win, but to our credit as always and having faith and playing as a team we came back just as strong. Going into the main break scores were PCYC 3 to the Eagles 1. After a quick chat we new we had to keep the wheels in motion and not give the eagles a sniff of victory as for the entire game the pressure and rivalry from our opponents was fierce.
Final scores at the end of play was PCYC 10 to the Eagles 4, scores don't reflect on how hard this game was with our team hitting the deck countless times ( ESP BUCKSY ) from checking and trying to shake us up. Jayden " the quiet achiever" Menzie had some outstanding strikes netting 4 majors , Brady " Bucksy " Watson stood up yet again in another stand out performance adding 3 , our star recruit Jade Williams was superb covering so much ground and having effective plays even managing to chip in with 2 goals and the "goal of the night" went to our fierce goalie Jake French once again showing everyone how keeping is done. Katlen Stone as always held our defensive line in check and produced some stand out passing, the EAGLES also had 2 own goals to our credit.
It was a fantastic TEAM effort I must say and was a pleasure to watch. A big happy birthday yesterday to JYE MENZIE " all the best mate " and a very happy birthday to KATLEN STONE " all the best Kat " for today from your team mates and PCYC staff.
Next wednesday we take on the " BOB THE BUILDER " team at the same venue same time ( 4.55 PM ) and look forward to another exciting challenge.
